Before the Fame.
I'm Vante. I'm from Syracuse, New York — and that's where the eye came from. Small rooms, familiar faces, nowhere to hide. You learn to watch people properly when there's no crowd to disappear into.
New York City is where the work lives now. Stages, green rooms, dining rooms, block parties, backstage corridors. I work from inside the room — that access is the picture.
I see the world different. I'm drawn to the moments most people walk past: the in-between, the unnoticed, the underdog. I photograph people and culture before the world knows their name.
Before the Fame is the philosophy — documenting artists, founders, chefs and neighbourhoods at the moment of becoming, not after. The work spans entertainment and live performance, nightlife and private events, hospitality and brand photography, portraiture and community documentary.
